바이오에너지 원료작물의 환경 스트레스 극복을 위한 생리적, 생화학적, 분자생물학적 기작 규명

 - 다양한 불량환경 (저온•수분•중금속 스트레스)에 반응하는 작물의 생리적 변화 관찰
 - 불량환경 하에서 원형질막 H+-ATPase의 발현양상과 H+-efflux 회복기작 추적
 - Osmotic, saline stress 하에서 작물의 막 단백질(channels, transporters)의 내성관련 기능 규명


다기능성 바이오에너지 원료작물 개발
 - 중금속 수송 유전자 (Heavy Metal transporting ATPases: HMAs)의 기능 규명 및
   이를 이용한 토양정화용 바이오에너지 원료 작물 개발


바이오에너지 원료작물의 지방산 함량 증진 연구 
 - 지방산 합성 관련 유전자(FAD2, FAD3, ACBP 등)의 형질전환체 제작 및 기능 분석
 - 다양한 환경 스트레스에 따른 지방산 함량 및 조성 변화 기작 연구
